Bug out bags can be built and used for a variety of reasons, but the most common is purpose is to aid you in the journey from a place of danger (aka, “bugging out from your current location”) to a safe location. There is no one size fits all for these packs, and they can and will be somewhat different for each person depending on where you live, what your skill sets are, what lies between you and your safe destination, along with several other variables. 

With this in mind, we’ve included most of the essentials that nearly all humans will need to survive in almost any environment. Whatever you decide to include in your pack, be sure to take the time to run through a SWOT analysis and a thorough threat assessment to help you identify exactly what you’re preparing for, and what items will be most appropriate for you. And remember… two is one and one is none!
